Adult Medicine

South Boston Community Heath Center’s Adult Medicine Department provides Comprehensive primary care to adults age 18 and older. This includes routine physicals, same day visits for urgent problems, preoperative physicals, and routine follow-up treatment of chronic problems such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic heart and lung diseases. As part of our routine medical exams, we provide screening for cancer, diabetes, hypertension and other chronic diseases; cholesterol screening; counseling on healthy lifestyles; and immunizations. We also help coordinate specialty referrals and home care when appropriate.

Our providers have a variety of specialized interests, including Women’s Health, Geriatrics and Substance Abuse. We also have specialists on site in the areas of Diabetes, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Physiatry and Podiatry.

We also have residents from Boston Medical Center who see patients one day a week. Residents are fully licensed doctors who are going through additional training in the area of adult primary care. All of the care they provide is supervised by one of our on-staff primary care physicians.
