
South Boston Community Health Center’s Family Medicine Department provides care for all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, pregnant women and elders. This includes routine physical exams, preventive care, cancer & cholesterol screening, immunizations, chronic disease care, walk-in care for urgent problems, pregnancy & newborn care, family planning and gynecological services. We have Women’s Health specialists on our staff as well as ob/gyn physicians and certified nurse midwives.
The Family Medicine Department is staffed with both Staff Physicians and Medical Residents. The Medical Residents are all licensed physicians who are pursuing advanced training to become Family Medicine specialists. Residents spend 3 years seeing patients at the South Boston Community Health Center under the direction of the Family Medicine Staff Physicians.
