DESCRIPTION:WIC (Women\, Infants and Children) is a nutrition program that provides nutrition education\, healthy food\, and other services free of charge to qualified Massachusetts families. \nWIC clinics will be held at South Boston Community Health Center twice per month starting June 1\, 2024:\n\nWhere: 1st floor of 409 West Broadway\, South Boston\, MA 02127\nWhen: 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month\, from 9am to 1pm\n\nNo appointment necessary.\nWIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents\, working or not working. If you are a father\, mother\, grandparent\, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under 5\, you can apply for WIC for your child!\n\n\n\nMore about the program:  \nWIC’s goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women and kids under 5 healthy!  But\, WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents\, working or not working.  If you are a father\, mother\, grandparent\, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under 5\, you can apply for WIC for your child. \nThe Massachusetts Women\, Infants and Children Nutrition Program provides vital nutrition care during pregnancy and early childhood. \nVISION\nTo ensure that all eligible families experience long-lasting nutrition and health benefits from WIC’s coordinated\, easily accessible services. \nMISSION\nTo improve the health status of families by providing nutrition and health education\, lactation support\, nutritious foods and referrals to other health and human services. DESCRIPTION:Are you an expecting parent searching for a pediatrician? \nEach month\, our pediatric providers host a meet-and-greet event\, where expecting parents will receive a tour of the Pediatric department at 409 West Broadway\, and talk to some of our primary care providers to see if one of them would be a good fit for their new baby. These events are open to all parents. (Parents do not have to be existing patients here already.) \nMeet and greets are usually hosted on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 12:30pm to 1pm.\nTo register for an upcoming meet and greet\, call the Pediatric department at 617-269-7500\, and provide your name\, the hospital where you will be delivering\, and due date.
