Job Summary
The Human Resources Assistant will support the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Coordinator with administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR Department. The HR Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS, onboarding, personnel record maintenance, employee health, reporting, benefits, recruitment.
This position is a great starting place for a new grad who is looking to gain experience in healthcare management, onboarding, and recruiting.
Qualifications
- College experience, Bachelor’s preferred
- Experience working in a professional office setting, practicing confidentiality and discretion at all times
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse employee population
- Strong organization skills, paying attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with payroll systems
- Experience using Excel and various Microsoft applications
- Willingness to accommodate the everchanging daily needs of Human Resources
- Aligned with the mission of community health
Representative Job Duties
- Assist in the build out of newly acquired payroll system, ensuring utilization to its full capacity
- Routine Employee Credential Screenings (i.e. licensure, exclusions checks, etc.)
- Tracking and monitoring employee health documents/tracking due dates
- Setting up/organizing new hire files
- Assisting in the onboarding and orientation of new employees
- Scanning and filing
- Maintaining personnel records both on paper and electronic
- Maintaining job postings on recruitment web sites
- Conducting candidate reference checks
- Special projects and other duties as needed
