Human Resources Assistant

Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant will support the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Coordinator with administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR Department.  The HR Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS, onboarding, personnel record maintenance, employee health, reporting, benefits, recruitment.

This position is a great starting place for a new grad who is looking to gain experience in healthcare management, onboarding, and recruiting.

Qualifications

• College experience, Bachelor’s preferred
• Experience working in a professional office setting, practicing confidentiality and discretion at all times
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse employee population
• Strong organization skills, paying attention to detail and deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with payroll systems
• Experience using Excel and various Microsoft applications
• Willingness to accommodate the everchanging daily needs of Human Resources
• Aligned with the mission of community health

Representative Job Duties

• Assist in the build out of newly acquired payroll system, ensuring utilization to its full capacity
• Routine Employee Credential Screenings (i.e. licensure, exclusions checks, etc.)
• Tracking and monitoring employee health documents/tracking due dates
• Setting up/organizing new hire files
• Assisting in the onboarding and orientation of new employees
• Scanning and filing
• Maintaining personnel records both on paper and electronic
• Maintaining job postings on recruitment web sites
• Conducting candidate reference checks
• Special projects and other duties as needed
