Spanish Medical Interpreter
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Spanish Interpreter to join our team. This full-time, on-site position requires a “people person” who is available to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and ensure a positive experience for both patients and staff.
As a Spanish Interpreter, you will work closely with other staff to address the translation and care coordination needs of all Spanish-speaking patients requiring interpreter services. Your role will be crucial in facilitating clear communication between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely interpretation services for Spanish-speaking patients.
- Collaborate with other staff to manage translation and care coordination tasks.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with patients and staff.
- Assist in the preparation of translated materials as needed.
- Ensure attention to detail and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications
- Certified in Medical Interpreting using target language
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
Representative Job Duties
- Provide accurate interpretation for patients, family, and staff during patient visits (both in-person and virtual) and in ancillary departments, such as in Radiology, the Lab, Pharmacy, or at the front desks.
- Assist in registration, appointment scheduling, financial counseling, and other workflows to coordinate care for our patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient’s personal and medical information.
- Report to Director any problems, suggestions, and concerns.
- Maintain rapport with patients and staff.
- Act as a cultural broker and communicate patient’s social and cultural needs as they relate to the medical history.
- Use appropriate methods to communicate with providers regarding patient’s concerns.
- Provides written translations when necessary.
- Documents care coordination efforts in the Electronic Health Record, Epic.
- Assumes other duties as required.
