The Department of Pediatrics at South Boston Community Health Center: Pediatric Care for a Healthy Start in Life
Quality Pediatric Care in South Boston
The Department of Pediatrics at South Boston Community Health Center serves all of Boston and beyond. The Department includes pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses and medical assistants all dedicated to providing comprehensive primary care to your children from the time they are newborns until their 20th birthday. This includes routine physicals, same day visits for urgent problems and follow up appointments for chronic problems such as asthma, as well as telephone advice for a sick or injured child.
We take a holistic approach to caring for your child by evaluating his or her growth and development, making sure their immunizations are up to date, counseling on healthy lifestyles and assessing how well they’re doing in school and with their peers. Referrals are made to specialists as needed.
A pediatrician, nurse practitioner, or experienced pediatric nurse is available after hours for telephone advice.
Expecting Parents Searching for a Pediatrician
Each month, our pediatric providers host a meet and greet, where expecting parents will receive a tour of the Pediatric department at 409 West Broadway, and talk to some of our primary care providers to see if one of them would be a good fit for their new baby. These events are open to all parents. (Parents do not have to be existing patients here already.) Meet and greets are usually hosted on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 12:30pm to 1pm.
To register for an upcoming meet and greet, call the Pediatric department at 617-269-7500, and provide your name, hospital where you will be delivering, and due date.
