Nurse Practitioner Anchor – SUD/OBAT
Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) Anchor to lead and support the care of individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) in an outpatient primary care setting. As the clinical anchor for the program, you will provide direct patient care while helping coordinate and elevate the quality of addiction treatment services. This is a role tailored to the supportive training of new graduates. The individual should be a motivated NP with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in addiction medicine, who is ready to grow their expertise with structured training and mentorship from experienced primary care providers and psychiatrists.
Training & Support:
- Structured onboarding and clinical training provided by experienced primary care providers and psychiatrists.
- Ongoing professional development opportunities in addiction medicine and integrated behavioral health.
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Massachusetts
- Certification as an NP (FNP, AGNP, PMHNP, etc.) from an accredited board.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Strongly prefer interest or experience in the field of addiction medicine.
- Passion for working with individuals with substance use disorders in a collaborative, supportive care model.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in outpatient or integrated care settings.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, harm reduction principles, or behavioral health integration.
Representative Job Duties
- Serve as a primary provider in the outpatient management of patients with SUDs, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) such as buprenorphine or naltrexone.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical providers, psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
- Participate in and help lead team huddles, clinical case reviews, and care coordination meetings.
- Monitor patients’ progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide health education focused on recovery and harm reduction.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Engage in ongoing training and mentorship opportunities to strengthen clinical expertise in addiction medicine.
- Developing and implementing our controlled substance registry.
