Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Urgent Care
Job Summary
At South Boston Community Health Center we are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Urgent Care team and make a difference in the lives of patients in our community.
In this role, you’ll provide timely, patient-centered care for a broad range of non-emergency conditions. Working alongside a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and support staff, you’ll help ensure each patient receives exceptional, culturally competent care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted NP or PA license in Massachusetts
- Board certification (FNP preferred for NPs)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a comparable setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS a plus
- Confident clinical judgment and strong diagnostic skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a high-volume setting
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or Albanian) are a strong plus
Representative Job Duties
- Treat walk-in patients for a variety of acute illnesses and minor injuries (e.g., respiratory infections, sprains, cuts, etc.)
- Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
- Conduct procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, and incision & drainage
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and follow-up care
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe and continuous care
- Document all patient interactions in the EHR system in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education
Competitive benefits package. Pay range: $130,000 - $170,000
